Teach me and I remember.

Involve me and I learn”

Do you think we learn best by doing something?

Do you agree there is nothing like experiencing it to know it?

Do you go to ‘networking events’, but not actually meet anyone interesting?

Do you think we should all share some more ideas?

“No teacher is better than your own experiences

HOW DOES IT ALL WORK?

The Movement Club is attending sessions, programs and events together (or by ourselves) and then sharing our experiences, so that we can achieve more together.

You can attend to participate, volunteer, or just observe, and we then meet up (sometimes on the day and always in a separate session online) afterwards to share our thoughts on ‘the experience’.

Why focus on the experience?

Because we believe that the experience matters the most.

What people will experience decides whether they want to come, and what they experience decides if they come back again, what they will say about you, and if they will bring others with them next time.

But everyone has a different experience and has different expectations.

So if we can all understand what makes a better experience, the more influential our work will be.

And why share our experiences together?

Because between us we have so much knowledge to share, and by sharing it we will be creating better experiences, but also be more connected, to more good people.

I STILL DON'T GET IT!?

Do I sign up for 'the MOVEMENT CLUB' – and – the WORKOUT, event OR ACTIVITY?

Yes.

Sign up for the Club session with the buttons above. That gives you the online meeting details.

Then sign up for the session or activity, however you want to be involved with it. You can attend, participate, volunteer, or just go along and observe!

Do we attend together?

We will often attend the experience together, or you can go yourself.

Sometimes we hold a Club meet up at the session, but usually on another day after the event (online or in person).

We will send you the info once you sign up for the Club session.

Do I need to pay?

Not for the Movement Club, but yes for the activity itself.

It is tempting to secure free passes to these experiences, BUT we think we should support them, and, keep it real, by experiencing the activity as a paying customer. That way we get the full experience and have the same expectations as other people.

Where IS the ACTUAL 'MOVEMENt CLUB'?

And how long DOES IT GO FOR?

We meet a few days after the actual activity or event, usually online* for 60-90mins, in small groups (*either online or in-person depending on the situation).

OK! What do we discuss at the MOVEMENT CLUB?

We have a loose structure so that our discussion is guided, that everyone gets a say, and we get some clear outcomes.

And – we ALL get to speak and speak to each other.

WHAT DOES MY 'REVIEW' INCLUDE?

We all give our ratings of the experience, and walk the group through our thoughts on the experience - answering questions like…

  • Who was the experience for?

  • What did you do? Think and feel? Say and share?

  • What value did the experience provide?

  • Before, during and after?

  • What was the sport or activity like?

  • What was the experience like at a functional level?

  • What about at an emotional, social, and even a transformational level?

  • What influence did the experience have on you?

  • What you would have liked to have experienced more of?

  • If you were organising this - one thing you’d start? One thing you’d stop?

  • One strategic thing you would change? Something more? Something less?

  • And, what will you take away and use in your work?

Are there any rules?

Just 3, be positive, open-minded, and fair.

Does/can the SESSION/EVENT organiser attend?

They can/you can.

Is it always sports OR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY?

Mainly yes, to keep it relevant, you will see it is mainly active workouts session and events, but, we will get out of our bubble and attend some other experiences, so we can bring the best of other worlds back to our active world.

Can my EXPERIENCE/ACTIVITY/SPORT be featured?

Yes, just drop us a note.

WILL OUR IDEAS BE SHARED?

Yes, they may be, unless you tell us not to. The sessions will be recorded, but only for reference, so that we may share some key points from each Club session in a blog, and possibly with the experience providers. We believe it is time to share our ideas, and together we can be even stronger.

Who is this Andrew O’Loughlin guy?

This is an independent thing but sits on my site (basically cos it was easiest). I will share some of my ‘thought starters’ in each session, but it’s not about me, and while I will let you know what I do (briefly) I won't be selling you anything.

Who attends?

We have an awesome group that will attend regularly, and, we want to see more awesome people.
